Frequently Watched Movies

Daily writing prompt
What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

Reflecting on the movies and T.V shows that I’ve seen numerous times for the sole reason that I have enjoyed watching them. There are very few movies or television shows that I watched at least 5 times. I f I did it was done over a time period. The rundown are as follows:

  1. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963):

When I was a young this movie used to be played on T.V every year around Christmas time. It was so hilarious I looked forward to watching it every year. I didn’t know it when I was young but later learned that this movie had an all-star cast of famous comedians, I haven’t seen a movie since that had so much super stars in one casting. Click here and you’ll see very familiar names

  1. Frankenstein (1931):

Over the years I’ve watched the original Frankenstein movie, spanning from when I was a pre-teen up until last year. Would you believe that I didn’t read the book until I had to do an assignment on the classic literature for an English class when I was an undergraduate student.

  1. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948):

Evey Sunday channel 11 used to show Abott and Costello movies, they played them, and replayed them. Those Abbot and Costello movies played so much I just started watching my favorites. The most favorite ones were when they met Frankenstein’s monster. The movie also featured the Wolfman and Dracula, and the Invisible Man had a cameo. Can you imagine all the classic legendary characters in one movie. The classic scene of the Wolfman jumping of the balcony grabbing Dracula as he turned into a bat, and they plunged down into the sea and rocks below is forever itched in my mind.

  1. Star Trek: The original Series (1966-1969):

I just loved watching Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock and the rest of the crew. I’ve seen episodes of the original series numerous. From my pre-teens to adulthood. But syndicate television never shows the episodes in order and some episodes rarely get shown. But thinks to Netflix I got to see those rare episodes and the ones that I missed because it never got much play on T.V.   When it comes to dysfunctional romance Captain Kirk’s name reign supreme even the green skinned aliens know it.

Well, I can’t think of any other movies or television shows that I watch more then those four. There was a point where I stopped watching television programs and movies more the twice, unless I’m on a date with someone.

  1. Captain Kirk – what a womaniser! As if a starship captain would ever be!

Can’t believe the length of that cast list on “It’s a Mad, Mad World” – however did they pay so many stars for one film!

Same here with Star Trek Original Series but I prefer Next Generation which I watch at least each year. Films-wise: Rosemary’s Baby, Company of Wolves, Whisky Galore, Blazing Saddles, Private Benjamin, Bridget Jones films, Wheatley’s The Devil Rides Out and ALL the Carry On Films every year!
