Work For Free
In this country known as the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave, why would anyone want to work for free.
I mean in this capitalistic society whatever job that somebody does, someone else is reaping a profit of another person’s labor. It doesn’t matter if someone volunteers to do charity work on behalf of some organization who is supposed to look after the segment of the population who are deemed vulnerable. Even those organizations are looking to turn a profit in some way of fashion.
Some people may disagree that a non-profit organization is not in the charity game to make a profit. Well, those people better think again, wake up and smell what the Rock, in this case True_George is cooking.
The Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of some of the largest charity organizations have a huge salary. We’re not even talking a six-figure salary, but an eight-figure salary. Plus, their underlings, the organizations bureaucrats’ salaries are lucrative. Then whatever is left over is spent on the type of operations that the organization does.
To make my point, one of the world’s largest charity organizations, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), even though it is a government agency, it was revealed through an audit that money from funds that was earmarked for individual projects were kicked back to the Congress member that supported the project.
I suppose one can say at least Trump manage to cut off those corrupted government officials from one of their major sources of income. Let’s hope those corrupted officials are made to hold accountable for their theft. We counting on you to make that happen President Trump.
These organization officials take in all of the funding, then the crumbs are spent on the actual program, in which they ask people to volunteer their time and put in work without receiving compensation.
This is one reason out of many why True_George will never work for free, that is if there is no choice.
When True_George was taking graduate courses to get a Master’s degree in order to graduate, I had to do an internship, and practicum hours. This meant that I would have to perform work that don’t give compensation, aka work for free.
I was reluctant to do it, it is against my principles to work for free. But after spending thousands of dollars in tuition, and putting in time to attend classes, study and write papers, I had to provide free labor as a requirement of graduation.
I performed this free labor as an intern at a state psychiatric facility located in an area what can be consider the boondocks of New York City called Staten Island.
You can read about some of my experiences at that psychiatric facility in “Psych Ward Chronicles.”

nope I always have to pay. Mind you, we have some ‘tea rooms’ which are run in aid of churches or charities and they’re always very cheap and good, homemade cakes.
