Driving
Even though we are in the winter months, the setting of this experience took place during the summer. I suppose the subconscious does not distinguish what season to display. Well, the full setting looked like a typical summer’s day on the block from the eyes of how I saw it during my teens.
I was in a car, it looked like the first car that I owned, but instead of being a Ford, it was a Honda. It was in the street, and I could see the street sweeper coming down in my rear-view window.
This is when I realized that I had to move the car out of the way before the street sweeper got near, otherwise I’m looking at getting a parking ticket. But before I moved the car three of my friends came and sat in the car.
So now it isn’t a matter of moving the car to the other side of the street, now it is going to some destination. The destination was unknown, the car was just driven forward until we came across a street vendor vehicle where the vendor was selling comic books.
The vendor had some ventage comic books, as well as the latest copies. Me and my friends were looking over the comics. When the vendor was attending to a customer, one of my friends took a hand full of comic books and was passing them over to me through the window of the car’s driver’s seat.
Each time the vendor wasn’t looking the friend passed the comics over to me, and I put them on the car’s floor. Not sure if the vendor realized what was happening, because we abruptly left and arrived back on the block.
My older brother was calling me from across the street, he was having a dispute with someone who he was doing some sort of business with. He wanted me to back him up because the dude was bigger than him.
I went over there to make sure that the dude who my brother was dealing with didn’t get out of hand. There was some type of negotiation, and an agreement made between the dude and my brother.
I asked my brother why he must do business with someone who does not give respect. That the dude needs to be taught a lesson. Me and the dude has some choice words.
The dude appeared to have on some type of helmet. It looked like a cross between a football helmet and a high-tech gaming helmet. The dude got into a linebacker stance and rushed me with intent to cause injury.
When he came rushing towards me, I grabbed him and did a perfect hip throw that I learned in my Judo class. The dude was thrown to one side. Then he came at me again, and I tossed him to the side again. He rushed me three more times, and each time I used the hip throw to toss him to the side. Eventually, he learned that his aggression towards me was futile, and he was humbled..
Other events of this dream experience became too distorted to make any conscious sense, but other than that this whole experience didn’t make any sense to me. Maybe I should look more into dream interpretation. Yeah, I said it before, but it is a bit time consuming when you have a busy life where there isn’t a lot of time left after the daily grind.

Your use of the word ‘dude’ reminded me that I was amused by the word ‘rube’ being used a lot in the Dukes of Hazzard – I’m assuming it might just be a deep-south term but do you use it ever and what exactly is one?

Dude is just urban slang that is also an idiomatic expression. It means, a man, a guy, a male person, a man whose name you don’t know..
In this instance since there was more then one man the usage was to distinguish that person from the other men

yeah I know what ‘dude’ is but was intrigued by ‘rube’ which I assume is similar but seemed like it was probably a Deep South expression as it was on the Dukes of Hazzard. Have you heard ‘rube’ being used?
