Bronx River

After a considerable amount of time from being away from the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy, I dusted off my gi and was back on the mat; while I’m a bit rusty because of not being on the mats for a while, I felt energized after the session was over. Well, I suppose I was reminded of the side effects of practicing the art, which can be addictive.

I don’t know if being back on the mats influenced this latest dream. I felt that I was back in the National Guard. I was on the advance party going to some unknown destination.

I was driving a 2 ½ ton truck on a bridge, but the truck got immobilized on the bridge and it somehow was getting ready to fall off the bridge.

I was trapped in the truck, but a civilian came along in a SUV and somehow fashioned ropes, one was going from the SUV’s left rear bumper to my truck’s left front bumper, and another going from the SUV’s rear right bumper to my truck’s right front bumper.  that stabilized the tuck from falling off the bridge.  However, the stabilization was temporary.

To escape the faltering 2 ½ ton truck, I got on the ropes and was pulling myself along them to get to the SUV. But to my anguish, the SUV’s owner didn’t want me to seek refuge and told me to go back to my truck.

Even though I was protesting, the SUV owner was not relenting. He told me not to worry, that the Bronx River was below the bridge.

I had no choice but to go back to the floundering truck, and when I got back into the cab, the truck fell from the bridge into the Bronx River.

Once the truck hit the river, I swam to the river’s bank and pulled myself out of the water. Since most of the waters of New York City is polluted with all kinds of bacteria, I went to the nearest hospital to get a technic shot from being in the Bronx River.

It is ironic that I should have a dream about the Bronx Rivera because a dude that used to train at my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy, whom I rolled with many times a few years ago, was murdered and he was found floating in the Bronx Rivera.

I don’t think that the dream’s metaphor has any co relation, but it was just a thought that crossed my mind.
