Expedition
Not sure what was the influence or what even inspired this dream. It started out with some sort of race. The setting was something that I’ve seen before in other dreams. It was like a an elevated road, that resembled the one in Iraq that was dubbed one of the worlds most dangerous highway.
This highway was an elevated highway with a sharp curve. It was part of the Main Supply Route, somehow, I can’t remember the name of the road. It is the turn off from route Irish going north to Mosel.
Well in this dream that same highway was used as a racetrack with competing teams. I was observing one team, and they were Soldiers, they had on the attire what you see long distance runners have. Hell, the other figures competing in this race also had on the same attire.
Well, this team of Soldiers somehow veered off from the race and was digging beneath the earth. There was some sort of path that went underground for an unspecified distance before coming back up to the surface.
When the team of Solders started to dig down, their attire changed that from what a long-distance runner would wear, to that of a standard army uniform. The mission was to explore that pathway that was made many years ago during a war. It seems the war was over and the military abandoned the project.
The team went to the surface and lacked water, instead of going forward they decided to go back. But they hit a snag, while under ground there was a cave in and they were trapped. The couldn’t go back.
There were some words uttered that what they were doing was top secret, now that the underground caved in they believe the military will not waste time and resources looking for just two soldiers.
The trapped Soldiers also understood that they are expendable and not to expect any rescue. So they can only go back up to the surface and go forward, hoping to find a way out of their situation.
As they went forward, they encounter a community of people. These people were taller then the average size person, they looked like the deformed people in that movie “The Hills Have Eyes.”
These community of people were kind of hostile to the outsiders. It seemed the military did have contact with them during the war. The community of people did not forget their encounter with soldiers during the war, now, they were hostile to the team Soldiers when they saw the uniforms.
Unfortunately, the Soldiers did not have any fire arms with them, they did not bring any since the mission was an exploration and not likely to make contact with any living being.
But fortunately for the soldiers, this community of deformed people did not possess any real weapons. Just sticks. However, the Soldiers weren’t completely unarmed, they had their personal knives and daggers with them.
One of the Soldiers used his knife and cut the throat of one of the deformed people. That measure made the other deformed people back off. They scattered and did not make any further contact with the team of Soldiers.
As the Soldiers went forward into the territory, they came across an old radio which they used to make contact with their command.
The army sent in a rescue plane; it looks like the military had a map of the whole region, in a sense the world is a smaller place then it was fifty years ago. Not much is a big mystery anymore.
