Arbitration
Came home after 2:00am from the second gig, I did a favor for the guy coming in to relieve me. He said he had to run an errand and asked me to hold him down until he arrived. No problem, since I was working on something anyway. When I got back to the crib, I capped the night watching two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery.
I’m still contemplating if between staying on the second gig late or watching the two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery influenced this latest dream.
Well, it started out with me parking my car in the same spot where I parked in reality when I came home. I woke up, and saw that it was time to move the car to the other side of the street. I got up and went to where the car was, when I got there I saw the traffic agent standing next to my car.
The traffic agent was about to write a ticket, not because of parking, but because I left my car unattended in the middle of the road. I found this strange because I knew that I had it parked. But I see that the car is in the middle of the road with the hazard lights flashing. By the looks of it, the car has been there for a while.
I got in the car and started it up, for a minute there I thought the car wouldn’t start due to the battery was weakened because the hazard lights were on for a while. It started up OK, I drove around the block to find another parking spot.
While I drove around the block, a woman appeared in the back seat. She said, “what are you doing.” I said “what are you doing in my car.” She said, that “this car belongs to my Husband.” What! That’s impossible.
I stopped the car and told the woman to get out. I realized that her husband was the one who left the car in the middle of the road. But how? Well, I didn’t want this dude to get my car again, so I drove it to this garage.
The garage resembled some type of industrial factory. It seemed that I’ve left my car there before. Before I left, I got word that the last time I was there a duplicate key was made. Why? I couldn’t trust leaving my car there. So I left and went back to the block.
I saw the woman and her husband who claim my car is theirs, so I got the deed and paperwork to show them that I was the legal owner.
When I showed them, the paperwork showing when and from whom I purchased the car from, and the car title. They still made claim that they were sold the car, but they did not have the type of paperwork that I had. All they had was a bill of sale. I told them that they’ve been scammed.
They thought about it and said that when they brought the car from this so-called salesman, he had trouble running a check on the car. I told them that’s because the system wouldn’t allow him to get information because the car was owned by someone else (me). Red flags should have went off if the salesman had trouble running the car’s information. Plus he didn’t have the deed.
An arbitrator suddenly showed up and he was told both sides of the story. The arbitrator ruled in favor of the dude. I was dumbfounded how could he rule in favor for the other guy especially when I have the legal paperwork proving that I am the legitimate owner of the car.
The arbitrator said, “let him have it, but before he could get the car there had been arrangement with the car dealer for you to turn your car in and they will re-finance your payments and give you the latest model. The payments will be the same and you will not have to pay full price for the new model. Your old car will be donated to the guy that got scammed.” OK, I guess I can be satisfied with that conclusion.
If only it could be as simple as this in a real-life situation…

That would be a nightmare to me as I’m really fond of my cars – I get really attached to them and keep them for years.
