JY Provocative Question #7 – Hard Posts
This week’s JY Provocative Question: What was the hardest post you’ve written and published? What about that post made it difficult for you to write and share it? Are you glad you wrote & shared the post or do you regret it?
For True_George it wasn’t a question of writing and publishing something that was found hard to share. It was a matter of who I should share any written posts too.
When this blog True_George was created it was meant to be shared with people who were not in my circle of people who I interacted with on an everyday basis (family, friends, co-workers).
The reason for this is that sometimes True_George indulges in topics, that those in the circles that I’ve mentioned are not familiar with.
Can you imagine having a conversation or presenting an idea or concept with someone on a topic and they have no clue about, and given their state of mind is rigid not willing to hear or learn about what was presented. That their range of thinking about something is limited, not even questioning the information or lessons taught. that their response is sarcastic remarks, or jokes. True_George has come to learn that those types of response is typical when a person lack the information to say anything meaningful.
Growing up, True_George was a reader and would often encountered ideas and concepts that peers have not been introduced too. This has shaped ideas and response to challenges that peers considered different, or something that they did not understand.
This made True_George reluctant to share blog content to those so called friends and family. But, True_George came to the realization that he needed to spread the blog’s exposure and decided to share the blog’s content on all social media which meant that the blog will be reaching the eyes of those who he didn’t want to share any inner thoughts with because of how they reacted to True_George’s inner thoughts in the past.
This turned out to be a great decision, True_george has learned that everyone matures in their thinking at some point. That those same friends and family who once didn’t have any good thing to say about foreign ideas or concepts that True_George presented to them have expressed their approval and encourage that I continue to share the blog content with them.

I hear you – there’s definitely an argument that the hard part isn’t the writing itself but the sharing.

I have to say I can’t think of any hard posts I’ve had to write. There have been a few where I’ve had to think very hard about what I want to say and how I want to phrase it, a few where I’ve had to have a pretty detailed plan for what I want to write but, apart from that, most of them have been easy and fun.
