Tell Her She’s Dead

On this night I was binge watching the Sopranos, a series about a crime family of the show’s title namesake. A lot of stereotypes of Italian Americans ties with organized crimes, eating pasta and spaghetti, even the strip club “Badda Bing,” had connotations of a typical name for an Italian American establishment.

After watching a couple of episodes, I naturally entered a relaxed state looking at the T.V for quite a bit.   As I was watching a particular scene, I saw a woman wearing a red dress outfit walking down a treelined plaza.

While the woman walked down the treelined plaza  I saw three figures they were dressed in all black traditional Chinese clothes, with one of those triangle hats that you see the Vietnamese wear. Ironically the hat was also black instead of being white. In fact if you ever watched the Avartar: Last Airbender, the figures look like members of the “Dilee” the City of Bar Sing Se secret Police.

As the woman was walking down the plaza, I heard the words, “tell her she is dead,” then I saw the Chinese looking figures float up in the air, glided towards the woman. One grabbed her left arm, the other grabbed her right arm, and the third was in the back of her grabbing her by the shoulders. They lifted her a few inches above the street, and they flew backwards dragging her along until they were out of sight.

My reaction was this couldn’t be part of the show, I took the remote to rewind the scene to see if what I saw was indeed a scene in the show. As I rewind the video, and played it back, I did see that some of what I saw was part of the image.

The image of a character a woman, who was one of the mobster’s fiancé. She was killed for being an FBI informant. It was her fiancé that told his mobster boss (Tony Soprano) that she collaborated with the FBI. The crime family consigliere went and picked her up under the guise of taking her to her fiance, but instead took her to a secluded area and killed her.

All her family and friends know is that she just disappeared, they haven’t put two and two together, at least not yet. Maybe deep down they know that her association with crime family mobsters have something to do with her disappearance. In their world when someone they know disappears, they most likely got whacked.

So, now the boss’s wife who used to be a friend of the murdered woman, is on a vacation in France. She had a dream about the woman. The same scene that I saw showed, except for the woman was wearing black, telling the boss’s wife that she found her lap dog (the dog died three episodes before this one). Then a French Police Officer whispered to the boss’s wife, “someone needs to tell her she’s dead….”

The black figures wearing the Chinese clothes did not exist in the video. Well now I understand that I was briefly in the dream sphere. An example of an outside and imagination infusing together to create something that only the imagination can create.
