hallucination
Last night was ordinary, I turned in real late, in fact it was around 5am, I suppose it was time where many people start to get up to get ready to go to work. Since I was off this week, I was binge watching that Western series “Gunsmoke,” that’s why I turned in so late.
Not sure how long it was before I actually fell asleep, at some point I was awake. It was still dark; the sun did not come up yet. I changed positions from laying on my left side, to laying on my right side.
When I laid on my right side, while awake my eyes were open, while I faced the right side of the bed, an image of a woman suddenly appeared. The appearance of the face appeared piece by piece. The face appeared to be floating like it was projected, the image was an arm’s length from me.
The sudden appearance was very startling, I suppose that the sudden appearance elicited an emotional response. I shouted “ahhh!” and threw a punch at it. When I threw the punch, the image disappeared.
This left me pondering that I should not have reacted that way. But I could not help it because when these images suddenly pop up it is a surprise and the only thing that happens is a reaction instead of a response.
Some may call this experience a “hypnopompic hallucination,” perhaps, “sleep paralysis.” Maybe we should rule out sleep paralysis, because I managed to throw a punch. It would not have been possible if I was in a state of paralysis.
I guess, I need to keep in mind that a hallucination is not real, but need to know how long the image will remain of I don’t attempt to hit it. Or could it be a spirit? I guess that will be determined the next time this sort of phenomenon happens.

My first thought is hypnopompic hallucination.
Those can scare you and definitely catch you by surprise, annoyingly.
Do you remember any details about the woman that you saw?

Yeah, it was a haunting.
The woman appeared brownish, like a ventage painting, the dress was long so was the hair. Floating with the hair and dress moving like a wind was blowing looking down directly at me..

Perhaps, but the image appeared to be of a real person one who I have never seen before…time will tell if the same image will pop up again
