Chuck Norris 1940-2026
This week amend the excitement of the on-going conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States of America. We lost an icon of American martial arts and Hollywood action films culture. The legendary Carlos “Chuck” Norris passed away.
Chuck Norris was not only an action film actor; he was a real-life Martial artist who have held martial arts fighting championships.
You can call Chuck Norris the Martial Artist, of Martial Artists. Being a master in a lot of martial arts disciplines. He was 5th degree black belt in Karate, 1st degree black belt in Judo, 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 8th degree black belt in Kyokushin Budokai, 8th degree black belt in Taekwondo, 9th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and 10th degree black belt in Chun Kuk Do (his own created system).
In addition to the numerous national and international Karate titles. His fighting credits includes 180 professional martial arts fights, with an impressive record of 170 wins. Norris held the World Professional Karate Middle Weight Championship 1968-1971 (Undefeated). 1969 Triple Crown Winner, which is an achievement for having the most tournament wins in a single year. Winner of the S. Henry Cho all American Championship 1967-1968, and Black Belt Magazine Fighter of the Year 1969.
From there Norris went on the big screen and made numerous action films. One of is first roles was in the movie, “The Way of the Dragon,” where he was featured in a battle to the finish against Bruce Lee.
I particularly like the conspiracy films that he made in 1980. One called “Good Guys Wear Black,” and the other “The Octagon.”
As time went on, Norris made other memorable movies such as the “Missing In Action” movies, the “Expendables,” even a horror movie “Silent Rage.”
Norris was a remarkable dude and whatever he did in the Martial Arts world, fighting world and the acting world was legitimate. I wonder if he gave the Grim Reaper around the house kick when the Reaper showed up.
