E.M’s Sunday Ramble # 13

The Sunday ramblings are based on five questions on a certain topic. This week’s topic is

Technology and The Future:

1.Are there any applications on your mobile device, tablets, etc. that you cannot live without? Feel free to ramble about them! Maybe we will learn new apps that will become important in our own lives.

There isn’t any application on any mobile device that True_George cannot live with or without. In fact True_George will say that he can live without mobile devices and tablets. Now we need to remember that mobile devices as we know it today is just a recent development that took place within the last twenty years. While they are convenient, they are not a necessary component that is needed for everyday life.

True_George has had the privilege of having one foot living life before mobile devices and and the other foot living life with mobile devices and is able to tell the difference how life is like with and without the devices. In True_George’s opinion, the more we depend upon technology, the less we use our brains, the less we communicate with each other, and have social interaction. People dumbing themselves down, because technology does the thinking for them.

At the same token, True_George appreciates some benefits of technology, like communicating long distance in an instance, carrying 35 books on a device weighing less then 3 pounds, being able to access your workplace entire database and remotely work from home and having a map telling you directions while you drive. Its better then relying on a stranger to give you directions.    

2.  Do you prefer Apple or Android?

I prefer the Android. Apple devices are overrated, and they are not necessary the best devices. I found that the Android was a better device and more diverse than Apple.

3. Windows OS or MacOS?

I suppose my preference is Windows OS. I believe that something that is a bit more diverse is a superior product.

4. What do you wish that you would have placed in a time capsule 15+ years ago to have access to now?

Not sure what I would put in a time capsule 15 years ago that would serve me today.

5. When you think of the what the world will look like 50 years from now, what does that future look like through your eyes? Go as sci-fi and/or fantasy as you would like and ramble on however you wish to ramble

In 50 years’ time perhaps medical technology would have advance that people will live longer past the age of 100 without being restricted to nursing homes and be dependent on a care giver. Maybe a cure for cancer, the cold and the gout are found.

Maybe a teleporting system to transport people long distances, for example waking up in New York, and go to London to buy fish and chips, go to Japan to watch a martial arts tournament and be back in New York to get a good night sleep.

Space the final frontier is accessible to everyday people who can leave earth to find adventure and fortune. That there is a colony on Mars, and perhaps contact with other species of intelligent life.

Whether mankind moves past squabbling over religion and politics…. now that is something that would take another 500 years let alone 50.
