Judgement
In case you didn’t hear what was heard in good old New York City, and multiple social media channels, along with the mainstream media, and I suppose the entire nation, and sub-nation. The verdict in the Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs aka P. Diddy aka Love, sex trafficking and RICO trial was rendered.
I don’t know about you, but the suspense was killing True_George, when I got to the government office where I make my daily bread as a managing government bureaucrat, my fellow government bureaucrats began telling me that the verdict was in, and what it was.
Of course, I didn’t believe them, because when you hear information from third parties, it is often something far from what the information actually is, so when I got to the government desk, I used the government computer to access the media outlets to get the development.
I went to CNN, yeah, I know they are biased against Combs, and all their reports when it comes to Combs are always negative, but they cannot fake a court Jury’s verdict. It is what it is, like it, love it or hate it.
Hold and behold, the verdict came down as follows: Count 1: Racketing Influenced and Corrupted Organization act (RICO): NOT GUILTY; Count 2: Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Coercion (Cassie): NOT GUILTY; Count 3: Transportation to Engage in Prostitution (Cassie): GUILTY; Count 4 Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Coercion (Jane Doe): NOT GUILTY; Count 5 Transportation to Engage in Prostitution (Jane Doe): GUILTY.
Well, it looks like Combs and his legal team has accomplished what the Gambino family boss John Gotti and famed mob Lawyer Bruce Cutler; record producers, and owners of the record label Murder inc, Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo and Christopher “Chris Gorri” Lorenzo and their legal team has done. That is beat a RICO charge.
This is heavy duty, be aware that the government has a record of 97% conviction rate on those charged under RICO. It is very rear that anyone beats a RICO rap, and now it is itched in history that Combs is one of the few people that did. Had the Jury found Combs guilty, this charge alone would have put him behind bars for life. Plus, the extra step of forfeiture of assets and profit.
This means the government would have seized all of Combs companies, as well as strip him of his personal assets, such as his personal bank accounts, homes, cars etc, leaving him and his family destituted.
Imagine that the government taking companies that are legitimate business entities, that was developed and engaged in legitimate business for years, and have nothing to do with organized criminal activity and losing it over allegations that was prosecuted under RICO, in Combs case, the government tried to put a square block in a round slot by applying RICO when the case was all because of a man’s way of fucking pussy.
It’s also funny that organizing evenings of having kinky or taboo sex and personal drug use with women who are considered to be girlfriends would even be considered activity under RICO.
As far as the 2 counts of Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud or Coercion is concerned, the Jury saw this allegation for what it was; nothing but pure nonsense.
Even though the so-called victims didn’t say it out right, but what they described in their testimonies implied that they were willing participants in the activities that is infamously dubbed “freak offs,” or “hotel nights.”
If the Jury would have found Combs Guilty, he would have faced a minimum sentence of 20 years, and a maximum sentence of life. The only good thing with this charge that there is no forfeiture of assets. But, at Combs age, 20 years in a Federal Prison would effectively end his life.
The RICO and Sex Trafficking charges in itself were weak and the prosecutors engaged in borderline misconduct, attempting to make a case when there was none to begin with.
Combs being found guilty of the minor charges of Transportation to Engage in Prostitution, a statue under the Mann act, aka White Slavery act, is a travesty of justice.
In Combs case, the allegation was that he paid the travel expenses for escorts to travel across state lines to engage in sexual activity with him and his partners (Cassie and Jane Doe), and compensated them. Also, that he transported Cassie and Jane Doe across state lines and engaged in sexual activity with them.
If you look at it, if they are going to convict Combs under this charge, why don’t they arrest the escorts for being prostitutes. We all know that prostitution is illegal in 49 states. Only Navada has legal prostitution in certain counties.
Then there are the escort companies. Last time I checked, it if is illegal to be a prostitute, then a company that employs them and send them out is promoting prostitution. Why don’t authorities hold the escort companies accountable, if they believe the escorts the company employ is engaging in prostitution.
On top of that, the Mann act is basically saying that anyone is subjected to be arrested for traveling from one state to another, stopping at a hotel for the night and while they are there at the hotel for the night, engage in sexual activity. Well, so much for that romantic getaway.
Perhaps one day, they will arrest the wrong person under this act who can facilitate a lobby to change this statue of the Mann act.
But, lucky for Combs the sentence for this charge is not as harsh as the sentence for RICO and Sex Trafficking. The maximum sentence for Transportation to Engage in Prostitution is 10 years. Combs have 2 counts, so he is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in Federal Prison.
Yet, there are cases where people have been sentenced under this charge ranging from probation to the maximum of 10 years. It all depends on factors, such as the age of the victims, the extent of the defendant’s involvement, prior criminal record, and other circumstances, that could influence sentencing.
Often, if there is more then one count, the sentences are ran concurrently rather than consecutively. It is up to the court’s presiding Judge to decide whether the sentences should be concurrent or consecutive.
When we say that prison term is running concurrently; it means that the person is doing one term for multiple counts. Rather than doing a prison term for one count, then after that term is over do a second term for the same count.
For example, Combs is convicted of 2 counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, let’s say he is sentenced to the maximum of 10 years on both counts. In essence it will be a 20-year sentence, if the court says the sentence will be ran concurrently, it means both terms will run together as a single term, so he will only do 10 years for both counts. As opposed to doing the bid consecutively, which means he will do 10 years separately, doing 10 years for one count, after that 10-year sentence is over. Start another 10-year bid for the 2nd count.
Legal analysts are predicting that Combs is likely to do a maximum of two years because this is Combs first offense, and he has no criminal record. This is based on the sentencing guide lines that the Judge has to follow by law.
If Combs get that type of sentence, and it is run concurrently, Combs will be out of prison within six months, because he would be given credit for time served for the past nine months.
On the other hand, we see that the Judge denied bail until sentencing. For some reason, the Judge has denied this routine practice of allowing a defendant to be released on bail and return to the court for sentencing. Denying bail despite an offer from Comb’s mother to post a million-dollars, and Combs legal team confiscating his passport. Being a famous figure Combs is not a flight risk.
We’ve seen the prosecution has been engaging in misconduct throughout the trial, even granting witnesses immunity when they knew that the witness testimonies would be perjury.
We’ve seen that the Judge is not impartial, he sides with the prosecution. I wouldn’t put it past them that they are actively are looking for a way to circumvent the sentencing guidelines. Finding a way to sentence Combs to the maximum sentence of 10 years for each count, and running the sentence consecutive.
So, the old saying is that “it isn’t over until the fat lady sings.” We won’t know for sure what the prosecutors and Judge will do, until the sentencing hearing which is scheduled for October.
Keep your head up Puff.

Saw the video I think he could have done a better job explaining Puff Daddy’s history. He tried to be objective but I think the information he looked at came from main stream sources who tend to be bias against Puff.
Puff is a business man and his business is well known and the public knows how he got funded to start. There is no evidence that his business has anything to do with organized crime. As things reveal we will find that most of those lawsuits have no merit.

To be honest, as everyone was a willing participant, I hope he only gets 2 years total!

I predict 5 – 10 years, with the sentence being reduced for time already served and a chance to leave early for good behavior.

we’ll see let’s hope they don’t do exceptional things to give him a longer sentence…
