Bad Spirit Attachment
I’ve heard people say, “be careful who you invite into your home,” also that some people will bring bad spirit into your home. These sayings or “proverbs” mainly coming from old people, who heard it from other old people during their younger years. Some call it “old wives’ tales.” Well, I found out the hard way that those “proverbs,” or what old people say had some merit.
Yeah, this is another “girlfriend from hell” tale. Yeah, the same miserable woman who I invited to stay with me when I moved into my new house. She was supposed to help me with certain things but as time went on, I came to learn that her selfish and controlling ways were bigger than I thought they were.
I thought that she was helping me out of the goodness of her heart, and not wanting something in return. I supposed that this is where I sometimes forget not to expect that someone else have the same moral standards that I have for myself.
On a whole, one would think that having an intermit affair with someone, that there would be shared feelings on a moral level, like selfless sacrifice, giving without expecting anything in return, and being genuine.
I guess that is a naïve perception of people’s behavior, inasmuch as known these things about people and understanding that you cannot put your expectations and morals on somebody else, I guess that if you are emotional invested in someone that kind of logic goes out the window.
Of course, things started out well, girlfriend cleaned some things which I thought were uncleanable, had my pots and pans looking like they were brand new. Cleaned up the bath tub and making things look spik and span. In the evenings she cooked and made sure the kitchen was all cleaned up before we went to bed for the night.
After awhile when things needed to be recleaned after being used. Plus, when unpacking things out of the moving boxes, and going back and forth to get other boxes from the storage. The worm started to show its ugly head.
She started verbalizing and complaining, that everything is endless, when would the unpacking and cleaning stop. Now every time she does something she would complain. That when new things were put into place, she would remark, “who do you expect who will clean it when it gets dirty.”
I said nothing, but my thoughts were starting to lift the vail from my eyes, that this woman was not really here to help me. She was really here to help herself. She thought that there would an initial period that she would have to do something, but did not intend to help maintain what needed to be kept clean.
She had her plans, but part of her plan did not manifest, because the person who said that he would give her a job working in his office reneged on his promise. When she called him, he refused to take her calls. Obviously, he knows what kind of person she was and decided that he doesn’t want anything to do with her.
She was becoming increasingly lazy, and expected me to foot the bill for her smoking habit, and buy her everyday living materials. I tolerated this for a while, but the deciding factor for her to leave developed.
Being that the house was built in the 1920’s as you would often hear the noises that you would sometimes hear in old houses. They say that the noises such as the creaks and pops that comes with contracting and expansion of wooden frames of old houses as the temperature changes, and the water rush in the pipes from the plumbing is a normal thing.
But what I used to hear sounded like footsteps in the attic. But chalked it up to hearing the echo from the neighbor’s walking in their attic. Girlfriend from hell tells me when she was in bed that she thought she saw a man come into the room to check on the radiator, I chalk that up to her being in between sleep and being awake.
But what took the cake was one day I was at the top of the stairs, and girlfriend came up the stairs. When she was at the top of the stairs and went into the bedroom. I was still in the hallway when I heard the wooden stairs creak what sounded like footsteps of a person making its way upstairs. I said to myself, “what the fuck did she bring into the house, this bitch got to go.” I surmised that the longer she stayed, the worse things will get, and the harder it would be to get her to leave.
Within the next couple of days, I found an opportunity to kick her out of the house. She was not happy about it, but I didn’t care. She needed to leave and go elsewhere to live her pathetic life.
I can tell you, after she left, the strange noises stopped, there was no more sounds of footsteps in the attic, and who or whatever she brought into the house left with her. Hell, even the sunlight shone brighter throughout the house after she left.
Well, it seems like the old people’s saying about being careful of who you invite in the house has merit. I suppose we can’t dismiss old ideas, so listen when the elders speak.
