Sleep Study

At the government’s request, I participated in a sleep study. I checked in at the medical office at 10:00pm. They led me to this air-conditioned room; they placed some type of electrodes on my head and legs, a monitor across my chest and hooked me up to some sort of machine.

My thought was that being hooked up to this machine and the cold temperature of the room, do they really think someone could be comfortable, let alone be relaxed enough to get a good night’s sleep.

Well, at least I can tell them to turn off the air conditioner, which I did and they even provided a small heater to warm up the room a little bit, which worked out fine.

Anyway, before being hooked up to the electrodes and machine, I had to fill out some paperwork. While I was in the room waiting for the Nurse to come back. She was taking such a long time, as I sat back, I suddenly saw that the entire room changed in appearance.

It looked as though another environment was imposed on the environment that I am presently in, perhaps this is what I’ve read concerning dimensions, that two realities can occupied the same space. This office truly has a different energetic feel then the norm.

The other environment was also that of a medical office, but it looked like some sort of inpatient ward. It wasn’t a colorful environment; a brownish color was more pronounced.

I could see a patient in a wheel chair being pushed into the room. There was a boy who looked like a pre-teenager accompanying the patient. When they entered the room, the patient in the wheeled chair got up and attacked the boy. Giving the boy solid punches to his arm and chest.

The blows looked brutal given the size of the patient, that type of attack could easily cause bodily harm to a full-grown man, let alone a boy.

The medical staff restrained the man; however, it seemed that the boy was unfazed by the attack. I supposed it was lucky for the patient that the boy was unfazed because it could have meant calling in the Police, and we all know that if Police are involved in matters, it complicate things.

I didn’t see any more details on this alternate medical ward environment.  This time it was an outside environment. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the full details without it making conscience sense.

I was out of the dream space and back into reality by the time the Nurse came back and took the paperwork. I couldn’t help but notice that one questions asked if I’m able to recall dreams, and another question asked if they dreams were vivid.

I couldn’t help but think that what was written on the paperwork is implying that a detailed dream recollection and vivid dreams happen because of an existence of some sort of sleep disorder.

Perhaps it is also implying that a person with a normal sleep cycle shouldn’t have the ability to have vivid dreams, or recall dreams in detail. Given my dream experience, is it implying that I have a sleep disorder.

Pondering certain experience that manifested while serving in the military, maybe I do have some sort of sleep disorder which was never addressed for many years. But, I guess I’ll find out once the results of this sleep study come out.

Otherwise, I suppose I would have to do some research about this whole dream and quality of sleep connection.

Update:

The results of the sleep study came out. It was sent to the Veterans Administration (VA) so whatever was written on that paper won’t reach my eyes.

According to the results, the VA has ruled that I have a sleep disorder and has given me a service-connected disability rating, but the motherfuckers did not upgrade my total service connection rating. This means they are not giving me any more compensation, if they would have, I would be getting the maximum. I hopped that they would give upgraded it, but some bastard who probably never served in the military decided that even though I’ve been granted a service-related compensation, there is no change in my total service-connected disability rating.

  1. I don’t think it’s a sleep disorder to have vivid dreams. I think you probably have more than most as you recall as many of your dreams as possible and document them on here (or elsewhere) – when I kept a dream diary for a year or so, I started dreaming much more, remembering them more and they became much more complicated…
