If I Got a Tattoo

Daily writing prompt
If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
Servicemember's shoulder tattoos read “42ID,” “16TH MP BRIGADE,” and “PROTECT AND SERVE.”

Well unless you’re living in a society where getting a tattoo is part of your cultural norm, or in some group that compels you to get one; then you don’t really have to get a tattoo unless you want to get one.

I don’t really understand the obsession with getting a tattoo, some people call it body art, while others use it has a symbol to their life’s journey, while others tattoo the names of their children or the person they love. Only to end up looking for ways to remove the name after the person who they thought loved them left them.

Anyway, if I should decide to get a tattoo the there would be two that I would strongly consider inking the patches of my National Guard division the 42nd Infantry division aka Rainbow division on my right shoulder, and on my left should would be the patch of the 16th Military Police brigade which I wore during my deployment to Iraq.

42nd Infantry division

16th MP Brigade
