The First Crush: Lots
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “First Crush.”
There were so many first crushes at different stages. The very first one was probably more of an admiration rather than love. Besides, all the other boys in class felt the same, she always kissed us and treated us all like we were her children. Then there was the first one where provocative thoughts filled my head each time I looked at her. It was just fantasy because being with that person was not in the scope of mine or her reality. Then there was the first one that could have had a lasting effect if it was acted on. Both of us were discouraged; the crush did not develop because we could not get past the taunts and being the subjects of fun making by our follow classmates. But as a consolation some of those classmates went home with a swollen lip or I kicked their butt like I kicked a soccer ball. Then there was the first one that made my heart beat faster, I can’t say too much because my heart will start to beat faster. Oh, it doesn’t stop; there was the first one with who I made a connection with, then there was the first one who was married to another man…..lord have mercy to many first crushes at different stages. What would I say to them if I should see them again? If I told you that, then I would have to kill you…
